The 3200 is definitely tighter; it's true stall is in the 3800 range.

Don't get hung up on "soft shifts". Having shifts that bang hard often lead to tranny failure.

As far as the WOT shifts go, on the WOT table you can bring down the mph by 2 mph and see if that cures it. If it doesn't, go another 2 mph. Then try bringing the rpm down by 200 rpm.

I assume that you made sure your fluid level was fine after installing it.

I'm actually a master tech for Toyota, so I'm not really a newbe to all this, even though I sound like one.Lol! The vig just kinda shocked me at first.

I'm not really hung up on the soft shifts, I know what hard shifts do to tranny's, I'm just after shift quality, not harshness. I'm going to play with the tuning, and wait a couple of weeks before I pull it back out. Maybe I will like it after a week or two.

Even though the soft shifts are not necessarily a problem, you may be like me and simply dislike how they feel. I had a Transgo kit installed with my converter to firm up the shifts. Tuning and the Transgo will go a long way to helping you like your converter.

Maybe your exhaust is to loud and its playing mind games. I've seen it happen before. I've been in a car with a yank 4000 and a SLP duel/duel exhaust(stock quiet) and you might not even know it had a stall if you didn't look down at the tach.

Actually my exhaust is pretty quiet. I know what you mean though.
