Default SY3500 in a 2001 z - Gotta question

I am getting ready to install a sy3500 in my 2001 z. Can anyone tell me if I will have any problems with codes?

I have NEVER heard anyone throwing codes with a SY3500. Not to say it doesn't happen - just never heard of it. I think the ST3500 in 2001 and later cars have had some problems - not everyone mind you, but it seems to happen often enough.

Then again, the ST3500 is probably one of the most popular converters out there and there are a lot more people running it.

Hopefully some people that actually own a SY3500 will chime in.

Thanks for the response. I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

The only problem you might have is with the torque management system....its a new system that was put on 2001/2002 cars its a pain in the ***, and to get rid of it you need to get the CPU reprogrammed...

Red summed it up pretty well.

The SY 3500 is a larger diameter converter and is less prone to issues than the smaller diameter convereters.

Torque mgt. has actually been around longer than '01. I know that I had it in my '98 T/A; it just wasn't as bad. You'll know when it happens. The car just falls on its face on the shifts, and you can feel the cutout in power. Since Ed Wright tuned my PCM, it's GREAT.
I don't know of anyone that's running a SY3500 in an '01+ car, so I don't know about the codes.
