my a4 problem!!!!!!!!! ok so the other day my friend in his stang wanted to race me. before the race i heated up the tires by doing a brake stand. we line up and we launch and my car hardly went... it seemed like it had only about half the power as normal. then the rest of the night it ran ok but it shifted slow and soft. it would get to the rpms where it would shift and just sit there for a few seconds before shifting. now when i drive it i can feel what seems to me being the tc locking up. i checked my fluid and it looks clean untill i wipe the dipstick with my finger and there is a little bit of grey in the red fluid. i bougth the car with 55k and now it has 73 k on it. its never had a fluid change or filter. could i do a flush, filter, shift kit and new fluid and a cooler or should i buy a new transmission? thanks for your help
The gray particles are your clutches. Smell the fluid. Does it smell burnt? It should be nice and bright red not dark. Never th eless it needs to be checked out. A fluid change won't fix the problem.
yeah it smelled a little burnt... should i just buy one of the transmissions from ls1speed.com such as the tci or dr evil or should i get a rebuild on mine...
