Default What MPH to lock up 4L80E?

For normal driving I have it set to lock up at 45mph.

What is the best speed to lock it up at for street racing?

Would the strip require a different lockup speed?

Just started playing around with my TCI T-Com controller after I got the motor running right - this thing is freakin awesome! So much control over so many different parameters... You can set it to do the whole split personality thing (mellow vs. slammin shifts when you have your foot in it!).

Thanks,

Jim

I set mine to lock up at 55mph in 4th gear only. It depends on what converter you used on whether you can set it to lock at wot for racing. I bought a 5 disc vig converter to get wot lock up. If you only have a single disc don't lock it under wot. If you do have a multi disc then lock it up right after your 3rd gear shift point.

Thanks. You mean lock it as soon as you get into 3rd?

I'll have to check about the converter discs.

If you have a multi disc converter that is intended to be locked under wot then yes, I would lock it up right after it shifts into 3rd.
