No 3-4 Accumulator Spring in 2000 T/A
Installed a Transgo HD2 kit and TCI SF3500 converter in a 2000 T/A this past Sunday and noticed that there was "no" 3-4 accumulator spring. Has anybody ever experienced or seen this? Tranny looked great inside so I don't think there were any ill side effects. Trans seems to shift great now with the 2 washer setup, the SF3500 really softens up the shifts, but they are a lot quicker and not harsh which is perfect.

Thanks jxaxsxoxn, I didn't know that. Does it firm up the shift or soften the shift with this practice? I've done a couple of 4L60Es, but this is the first one I have seen w/o a spring. Been using the Transgo method on the 3-4 accumulator with good luck.

re: accumulator
don't forget guys, accum pressure is opposed by tv pressure- so even with no spring in this type of system, there is hydraulic pressure on other side of piston- spring (rate) - (physics function here) is really for tuning accum rate to vehicle as 60E'e will go in 4 cyl. s-10 to hot v8 and s10 body to light 3/4 ton 4x4- ---------- jx- I'm only trying to help here- i have been rebuilding for 31 years- talk with the guys at transgo often- (mainly larry, glenn and gil himself on occasion) not trying to be a smart *** just trying to share info- i am learning a lot here too on the later type eng mods- suspension etc. this is pretty cool. hope to be friends with everyonee here- (kinda hard these days it seems) craig
