Default ? about removing check ball when installing PI3200

I was reading through the instruction manual that came with my PI3200. It suggests removing the check ball at the end of the input shaft. They same it will make the clutch lock-up firmer. Is this a good idea?

Thanks.

When we put my vig.3200 in we didn't remove that.I would say no,but wait for someone to come in here and confirm it.Just make sure when you put the converter in,that it clicks 3 times when you turn it to lock it in place.

I say leave it. It will only make the car shift harder, which really isnt needed. My limited experience with this is on a 99Z28 with a vig2800 that had nothing but tranny porblems. I'm not saying that this is why the car had problems, but I will say that we left mine in, and I've yet to have any. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
