thats some good times. With the converter you will drop into the 12's and the tires are a good thing too. You can always go dr's and drive them on the street also, never know when a street race might show up lol... I dont know about racing edge company but for 200 thats a good deal. You might want to check out fuddle racing(sponsor here) if you decide on something else.. I say go for it. Than get the tires and finally the gears. Than worry about the other stuff..

Heh, I talked to John at Fuddle Racing a lot and I'm impressed on his help and customer service. I decided I won't get new gears until I blow my rear end, so that way I can just get the gears put in with the rear end. I don't know if I would put the TC in w/o tires, I would have horrible traction! I know the guy that has the 3800. He now has a 3200 which makes me think maybe it was over kill for his car. He also has shorty headers instead of LT's like mine, so I make more power in the mid RPM's than he does. John recommended me at a 3200 with a 2.1 STR, but since this TC is like more than half the cost, I started thinkin about just tryin this 3800 out. I'll probably end up getting a 3200-3500 anyways I hate choices!

Yea john is a good guy(so far), i ordered a 3,800 from him and its on its way. As for traction, good luck with that my drs hardly live with my 3,000 stall, can only imagine the 3,800

Ha, that's why I'm gonna aim for some M/T I'll drive it nice and steady on the street, it will teach me to not beat the **** out of it! But man, choices are such a pain in the ***! Maybe I'll just get a new 3200, because I talked to John about upgrading etc. and he said it would be fine. Did you get the 555 dollar one?

no i got the 360 one and had it built for a turbo, which i plan on next spring and hope to make 500rwhp at the most. John said that the basic converter would be fine with the turbo making 500rwhp. If i were to make a bit more 550+ than i should look at the next model up, or if i wanted to manually lock up the converter under wot than i would need the next model up. But for what i want and the power level that i would see max their basic model is fine... As for you picking a 3,200 i dont think you will be happy with it, i mean you will be happy, say the first month or so but than you will want more stall. I would say atleast a 3,500 .

Im sure he modded his lt1 and if he gets heads than a 3,800 is even better for him..
I am not saying its a junk motor. I had two of them one in a Trans Am and one in a vette bothe with a six speed. LT1's have peak torque much lower in the rpm range and then flaten out. LS1s reach peak torque at a higher rpm that is why we use higher stalls than LT1s. In my opinion a 2800 stall would be optimal.
That is my opinion do with it as you will....
fwiw, my car runs 11's now and I am runnning a 3500 stall in my LS1.
