I have a 84 corvette and it was off the road for a while,,I cleaNED IT UP AND STARTED DRIVING IT TODAY AND IT WAS FINE ,,GOOD HARD SHIFTS THEN ALL THE SUDDEN IT LOST ALL UPSHIFTS,,IT DOESNT FALL OUT OF GEAR JUST DONT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST,,,I CHECKED THE THROTTLE PRESSURE CABLE AND IT IS STILL HOOKED UP AND FUNCTIONING, ANYBODY HAVE ANY CLUE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE,,i AM HOPPING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE TO A REBIULD,,OR A FIX INSTEAD OF A PULL OUT

Were you messing with the TV cable at all? You can press in that metal tab and oull out the cable/plastic and it will shift at a higher/frimer RPM, maybe you can try pushing it in if it is sticking out too much or all the way.

nope didnt mess with anything,,thats what odd it was running great and all the suddenit screwed up.I geuss I will have to pull it apart,,as much as I didnt want to lol

Automatics

If it has first gear only, and this happened all at once, you have stripped or broken governor gear most likely.
