Default Wont shift out of first

Alright guys, first post here. Helping a buddy put on the 1le ac delete pulley. Got the compressor out and put the pulley on. To get the ac compressor out we had to cut the ac lines, well, bad thing happened, accidentally cut the line from the tranny cooler to the transmission.

We slid some heavy rubber line over the two ends of the metal lines and clamped everything back together, thinking it would hold just fine. Refilled the tranny fluid we lost. Now the car will not shift out of 1st. the fluid is full, the tranny is not slipping in first at all. it pulls normally until you let off the gas the first time, then its like its in neutral. if you come to a stop, put it in neutral and back into drive, it will act normally until you let off again.

The car is a 93 z28, the tranny fluid has been changed twice in the last 50,000 miles, so it is decent.

Is there some sort of sensor we could have possibly knocked loose while removing the ac pulley?

sorry so long, just trying to be thorough. thanks
