I would recommend a Vigilante 3200.
I have that converter and my car is daily driven.
Fine for driving, great for racing.

If you want the stock like feel the SS series of converters is for you!
the SS3200 will give you a great all around boost in power and a step up to the SS3600 will give you that extra mid range to top pull with no real loss in around town fell with the 3.73 that you are running
give us a call
and get in on the GP that is running now with some great pricing

I have to give a vote for Yank. I just swapped from another brand coverter to a Yanks SS4000. The other converter was a 3800 and much looser on the street. At the track the SS4000 blew the other converter away. I'm not going to mention the other brand name but it is one of the top converter makers.

I'd look at going with a Vig 3200. This is the convertor I should of went with but I opted for a Yank ST3500 (which is not made any longer). Had problems since day 1 with the Yank and the Vig 2800 I had worked flawlessly.

I've got a SY 3500 and love it. The daily streetability is there but it really woke my car up.

THx for the post. What about tuning. I am using HPPIII for my gear and speedo corrections. What tuning will be needed for a TC

It depends on what size stall you go with. Generally, 3000 rpm or under stall won't require tuning. But with a higher stall you'll need to adjust your shiftpoints. This will capitalize on your new converter's power band. I also deleted engine torque management when I had my TCI SSF3500. The higher stall speed made the pcm retard the timing causing the car to stumble badly between 1 -> 2 shift. One I did that it was fine.

i have a vig 3200... i love it but really wish i'd gone higher.... you might consider something higher since you have 3.73s.. i found that my car stalled less with the higher gears... ( i went from 3.73 to 4.10s... and now my stall is like 2500 ) either way, its a completely daily driverable converter and I highly recommend it...

I remember a test about 4 months ago... compared two different converters(hopefully someone will find it) against a VERY well known company and a new company. results were the same at the track...

I've heard that 410s are a too much for autos. People get better results with 373s. M6 cars do very well with 410s. Have you ever thought of going back to 3.73s?

Btw, I love my vig 3200 as well.

nah.. i didn't think they were that bad at all with an auto.. granted, i dont drive on the highway much.... after i went up to 28" tires, there wasn't really any difference between the 4.10s with 28s and the 3.73s with 26"s... but i also have very low standards of driverability...
