Default 2-3 shift

well the car has a rebuilt tranny and a 3200 stall as of 2-3 months ago.....no shift kit....tonight i was having fun with a buddys c6 and at the end of 2nd it would bounce of the rev limiter at 6500 and wouldnt shift.....since the tranny was just redone im thinking its because i dont have a shift kit but i am looking for other inputs...TIA

mines is doing that right now and I was told my neutral safety switch is out, 1 to 2 then rev.'s. . Put a scanner on it and see if the computer has any trans. codes and see what gear the comp. says the car is in while it's in gear if they do not correspond then its that. mine will be in park and the car was reading reverse, while the comp. said 3rd ( I know sounds bad) so get it checked, good luck!

i had HumpinSS (larry) check mine and just sitting there it would not read the correct gear, but we drove around a bit and while driving it read right. anymore info on this because if this is the fix i'm celebrating....
