Default 14.004 Wtf???

I just got back from the track here is my best slip..
60' 2.195
330 6.007
1/8 9.138 @ 79.28
1000 11.785
1/4 14.004 @ 101.55

I just changed the plugs a month ago and the car seems to run fine. My 2-3 clutchpack is definetely gone but I dont think this is the problem. This was with the cutout open and street tires @ 22 psi (another run 14.035 @ 101.45 on 26psi). I know my car is a little heavy since it is a vert. I took the spare and jack out. What the hell is wrong with my car?

Is the lid and the catback the only mods you have?

I dont think that is such a bad time honestly. Verts are 400 lbs more than t tops so that 4 tenths more right there.

Get a tune, I ran a 14.05 with my catback, lid, and transgo more than six times that day. The next time at the track with my headers and ORY I got one run of 14.3. I went and got my car tuned, it was extra lean about 17.3 Air/Fuel ratio, after the tune I ran 13.5 spinning most of first gear on street tires.

Not too bad.....my buddy ran 13.9's-14.0's when he was stock in a T-top car. Then added an airlid and a cutout and he ran 13.6. I ran 13.6 stock, but I believe the Formula cars are the lightest in regards to weight by a small margin. I wouldn't fret too much. Get some LT's (sound badass with no cats and Hooker), a nice TC and a tune and you'll be shocked at the difference. Also, you may drop a lot the more you race. Just by learning my car and practicing my launches, I dropped .3 seconds after all my mods were done. 13.6 stock, 13.2 first time out after all the mods, 13.1 the next time out, 13.0 the next time, finally hit the 12's, 13.2 last time I raced. Driving ability makes a big difference even in an A4 car. Good luck and keep us posted.

Also, the best times were both powerbraking. 1 to 1500 and 1 to 1800. The first pass was without powerbraking, I ran a f'n 14.3 @ 100.4. My transmission mount is most likely broken too. ( I dont know if this would have any effect on my ET's though) How big of a difference can clogged cats or a bad fuel filter make?

What was everyone else running? How was the track conditions?

A stall will help that time alot.

Pittsburgh, PA. (Pittsburgh Raceway Park) Temp: 68 Relative Humidity: 67 Abs Barometer: 28.20 So a bad fuel filter (80k miles) would cause a bit of a difference?

I think with that baro the trap is not bad, the 60' times
are the same as I see (street tires, full weight).

I just checked that tracks elevation. 1250 above sea level so you do have a little elevation too add to the weight of the vert and baro. I think all things considered your not really that bad. I think your MPH is still 1 or 2 low but you may just need a good dyno-tune.

My vert fully stock in North Carolina ran 14.2s consistantly with a 2.1 60ft, came to Houston and laid down a 13.56 with a 2.1 60ft.
