I just got my tc back, after i bought it on here and had to send it to tci to have it reworked, ne ways, i'm not that happy! Maybe i just need a good tune. I just don't think its that responsive. In low gear i just don't have any "feel anymore". I have a TCI SSF 3500....maybe anyone who has this same one could let me know that it gets better. I shouldn't really have to mash the pedal to get up and go....or is that the feel of the 3500....thanks

Your noticing the "looseness" of a 3500 stall. Just imagine how bad a 4400 would be

I have the same converter and I know it seems like your slower but in reality your alot faster (or at least you should be). It takes alot of gas for me to get going in reverse and moderate acceleration around town definately feels "sluggish". That's the nature of the beast. However, the tradeoff should be that when you go WoT from a dig it should light up the tires in smoke. When you go WoT from 40 mph it should feel alot stronger then it did before because the rpm's will flash to 3500. Shift extension should be around 4800 rpm's which should also help to decrease ET at the track as well as add 1 mph to your trap speed.

Your supposed to feel slower under part throttle but you should feel stronger on aggressive throttle and it should be insane under full throttle from a dig. It took me a week to get used to the converter but now it feels stock to me except when I get on the gas hard

You might want to get a dyno-tune to make sure your running ok (I was running wicked lean) and a shift kit is a great idea to help firm up the shifts if you feel it needs it.

That was my first impression after installing mine too - after a few days you'll get used to it - and love it.

Thanks guys......darren you explained it exactly, and i do smash the pedal every chance i get. I know its hitting harder cuzz its harder to keep my traction when i do that...I was just curious about the "loosness"....thanks though

thats the trade off for a higher stall, you will loose bottom end stiffness/feal and it will slip more. Dont worry about that, your car is much faster than it was. Your just fealing the looseness of the converter which you can tighten up a little bit with a gear change like 3.73's.
