Default 4L60E tail housing

Just wondering if this is possible at all... I have a 4L60E 4x4 tranny out of a GMC sierra. Would it be possible to take off the trans case and put a 2x4 tail housing in it to make it a 2x4..

yes, but you also need to change the tailshaft. changing the tailshaft requires taking just about everything out of the trans case.

Obviously I know nada about trannys.. Im guessing the tailshaft is either too long or too short.. So if its too long could there be a way to get a spacer made or is this just not an option.

The 4x4 tailshaft is way shorter than the two wheel drive.
