The NEW YANK PE4400!!!!
Let me just say that this converter is extremly "tight" for being a 4400 stall. I have no problem driving around like it was my 4000 again, but when you want to go a little quicker, the rpms can reach 3000, which is expected with a stall this high, but I was impressed by it's low rpm manners.
I was trying to test it out, but over the local bridge I had an undercover cop behind me juts trailing me....soooooo that was out, cops don't like testing on the street I have found.....
So I get to this little stretch of road, I am like, "HEY.....THIS IS EMPTY!" so I give it a quick stab at about 20mph.....
This was easily the first time my car has actually scared me in a LOOONNNNNGGGGG time....I was shot back into the seat like I was cutting a 1.5 60ft, but this was a dman 20mph roll! My cams power is made at 6000-6800(where I spin it to). I had to do it again, so I turned down another open "safe" street, this time I looked at the tach. I hit it, and the tach slams to 5900rpm!!!!!! There is no delay in the power at all now, and I love it!
If you are gonna use this to help you buy your next converter I tell you this:
Get your car dyno'd, look at where the curve seems to like the power at, and match the shift extension to that curve the bext you can, or the most you can tolerate. This converter feels very "tight" for it's high stall speed, and not too much different than my old SS4000. I can tell you that the shift extension on my car with 3.73s, 26x11.5-15 ET Streets, 6800rpm shift, that the shift extension is right around the high 5800's to the 5900's. Which is about as close to perfect as you can get for a cam that kicks in right around 5900-6000. :yup:
Thank you Yank, and I hope to give your name and reputation even more great representation. Wish me luck as I plan to take the car into the low 11s cam only.....then once that happens, we will see what else it has in her.

I might have to get the car into bracket racing just to get some runs in this week or something.....
world of difference. that SS3800 would be a comfortable DD unit. the 4400 is rough and for track use and ocational weekend driving. ofcourse there are always other opinions.
i rode in this car with the SE4400. its just as loose as the PT4400.
