Is a tune needed for a 2500 or 2800 stall?
My buddy is getting his A4 rebuilt...its a 02 camaro Z28. He was looking to bump up just a touch on the stall and was wondering if he would have to get the pcm tunned for either of those stalls? Or could he just "plug an play?"
Thanks
Brian
Thanks

You wont need to change the shift points for such a low stall. But why is your buddy going w/ such a low stall anyway? If the trans is out he might as well go w/ at least a 3200 stall.

I think he is worried about drivability and gas mileage.........he drives it daily and is not too hard core. He plans for LT's and has a set of 3.42's he is going to install at the same time. He might do a cam down the road at the most.....I don't know. I was just wondering about the tune issue with a verter. Thanks for your info and opionion....I will pass it on to him.

If he's gonna do a cam down the road, he should at least go w/ a 3600 stall to get some potential out of it. I have a 4000 stall right now on a stock motor and it drives fine. Believe it or not my mpg hasnt really gone down either. I use the same amount of throttle to get goin as when it was stock. Then again, Yank makes really effecient converters.
