Would you buy a used stall?
I'm going to be in the market for a stall very soon and have seen a few for sale in various places. Would you ever consider buying a used stall off the internet if it was a good deal?

Nothing wrong with a used stall, providing you know its history and trust the seller. Where do you think the "new" ones come from? They are recycled GM bits too from cars like GM Minivans (21 blade stator), Trailblazers (10.5" stalls) and I can't remember where the 9.5" units come from.

I purchased my first LS1 converter from here, it was a Vig3200. It lasted over three years and over 60K miles. I flushed it myself and installed it myself. It turned out to be the best conveter I have ever purchased. Look at the post count or if the person is active on the forums, especially if people know the person. Those are better indicators of a good transaction.

My screen name was back from my days with my built tt supra (11 sec-gone) & my s/c v6 4x4 tacoma (14 sec-still have)...I have just kept it over the years. I have always thought that nearly all hondas are a joke with fart cannons and no torque (except for the high dollar non streetable versions) so that's the reason for the vtec option in the poll. My wife does drive a ex v6 accord though...not powerful, but plush & comfortable. I haven't even been beat on the street by a honda car by my tacoma (and its a lifted 4x4) so thats a testiment to all the 15, 16, 17, & 18 second second "race looking" hondas on the street.

One question I have for you is; what is with your screen name? Another; what is with the vtec option in your poll? I hope you're joking.

Good. I have no problem with a supra, or using a honda as a DD, but if you came back with a v-tec owns all comment I was gonna give you hell.
Another thing to consider when buying a used stall is that PI (Vigilante) stalls come with 1 free restall. So if that hasn't been used yet, you can send it back for free and get it restalled and checked out. This only applies if you're looking at a PI verter though.

I bought mine from a member of z28.com for $150 off retail price. This was a heck of a find IMO because the converter was still new in the box, the three bolts were still sealed in the bag, ect. He had bought the stall and then decided to sell the car for a M6
But with how inexpensive a good TCI or Fuddle lockup converter is, I could not see buying a used one at any price. May as well get a new one with a warranty. I voted save your money for a new one.

Just make sure you trust the seller, and see what type of posts he does. If all he does is post at the clasifieds section, I would stay away from him(I know from personal experience).
I have sold 2 converters on here n the past 2 years, and as far as I know both of them are still running strong. I will be selling a third in a couple of months.
