Default TH350 installers! Use stock LS1 A4 tranny crossmember?

Seems the little details keep cropping up.

A stock f-body LT1 A4 tranny crossmember doesn't bolt up to f-body LS1, so I just want to verify I'm about to go buy the correct part.

TIA!

Dean

Won't work Dean. Yank sells a prefabbed cross member. Or you can do what I did. Welded a plate to an A4 member to accomadate the tranny mount. Held up fine so far!

I'm a little confused why it wouldn't work.

The stock LT1 A4 tranny crossmember is used on LT1 f-bodies that have done this conversion... and the length of the automatic trannies between the LT1 and LS1 hasn't changed (has it??), so it appeared to me that the only thing that had changed was the tranny crossmember itself - it bolts up to a different spot on the driver's side subframe.

BTW, dunno if this matters, but I'm using a 9" tailshaft on my TH350. I saw your website, but I couldn't get a clean look at your TH350 tailshaft. Are you using the 9" or 6" tailshaft?

Don't take this as me arguing with you! <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> I just want to make sure I do this the right way.

Thanks!

I think it is the longer tailshaft (whatever Yank uses). Either way, the mount location does no match up on mine. I fabbed a little plate and welded it to the front of the cross member.

I know Yank supplies a new drive shaft with their kits, so maybe they are using the shorter tail shaft?
