Trans problem?
Yea, I left him big time in the dust but now my trans is toast.
The trans has been built for approx. 7 months, should it have lived under street cond. with my power level? Also, this is the second time in the last year it has done this same thing. It was fixed under warrenty the last time and I was told it would hold up just fine no problem. Should I expect it to keep frying the 3rd and 4th clutches or is there a problem that we may be overlooking?
Since the second rebuild it has been driven approx. two to three thousand miles.
Thanks guys!
I was told this tranny should do fine with my power level?

Have you taken your tranny back once to get warranty work done, if not plan on paying for another. Most shops will tell you, your blow or NOS voids the warranty, unless you did trans install yourself, you might be ok.
I had bad dealings with transmission shops on warranty work, the last time I took a tranny to a shop(before I learned how to do it myself) was a 5 speed out of 94 chevy dually, does a lot pulling with a 40 foot flat bed trailer. The rebuilt tranny was in the truck for only 3-4 months, the warranty was 12 months, unlimited mileage. When I took the tranny back the second time this is what they told:
shop- "we found a problem with your tranny"
me- "I kinda figured you would since it was not going into 3rd"
shop- "3rd gear was fine the problem was with low gear" - granny gear
me- "Ok, so your warranty will take of this"
shop- "we can not warranty this transmission"
me - "why is that"
shop- "because the silicone on the transmission is clear, we only use black"
me- "excuse me"
shop- "you heard me kid"
I just lost it and started to cuss them out.
I remember this like it was yesterday, but it happened over 8 years ago. They even had the ***** to keep the tranny for labor of taking it apart. After that dealing I took a class at the local community college on transmission and have done all of my transmissions, and have saved a ton of money. An 80E cost me $500 dollars in parts (Alto red eagle and kolene steels plus new bushings, bands, and complete seal kit), most shops charge between $1200 to $2400 for a stock rebuild. As for the transmission shop that screwed me, they only lasted for 2 or 3 more months after that, and I did not even sue them.
So my advise is, take a course on how to rebuild transmissions and do it yourself, and if you did not see the parts go in then you don't have those parts in your tranny it's just a stocker, but that is how I fell. And for the people that you think are your friends and they work at a tranny shop, well they're not, they are just being nice so you will come back for more shafting (I mean work).
