Ram Installed What a PITA!
Well, first of all I'd like to publically thank SLowhawk for his expertise and patience with helping me do this install. He really knows his way around cars and without him I would be SCREWED! So we finally put in the RAM setup yesterday(see sig). Started at 8am and finished at 10:30 pm, whew! Ran into a few obstacles like this TOILET PAPER METHOD AND the bellhousing being welded onto the dowels that hold it in place (not literally but almost).
Bleeding the hydraulics was a nightmare, and my hips and shoulders hurt like hell from laying on concrete for 13 hours. OTHER THAN THAT I LOVE MY PRO 5.0 SHIFTER!! oh I tell you If I love the RAM after another 400 miles or so.
1st impressions. Hardley any chatter,(need to develope different driving technique). Clutch pedal is a little firmer that stock. The problem I had shifting into reverse is gone. (did drill out mod also)
So far I like alot, and I KNOW I can expect this unit to hold the 655 lBS ft OF torque the N20 kicks out whithout slipping.
The stock unit was in pretty sad shape, (the disk looked really good though). I'll be selling the factory hurst in the classifieds.

What did you finally do to bleed the hydraulics? I am in the process of finishing up my Ram install with new master cylinder and slave. I can't get any pedal pressure no matter how many times I bleed it or pump the pedal.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bryan

We actually bleed the whole setup and then when we couldn't get ANY pedal pressure theres a bolt on the master, on the part that goes to the resevior that was loose. We ended up bleeding the master from there. Worked like a charm. I only have 180 miles on it so far but no shifting problems and chatter is only when you try to slip it around 1000 rpm. You CAN slip this clutch at a light though.
That was a PITA.TP trick is a trick
Time flew by though.Glad it is working good.I could tell that clutch is going to hold like a bastard when you drive it hard just by the feel on the maiden run
As for bleeding the unit I would bleed it through the master bolt(that holds the line)first.
OK now that we're warmed up,time to do my clutch-------NOT (at least for a little while)

Haha I hear ya man. My buddy puy my Ram (same setup) in a few months back and I just now did the adj master since the car was becoming hard to shift. I thought I did a decent job of bench bleeding it before I installed it, but I still cant get the car to take any gears. I have good pedal pressure but still no clutch engagement. O well I guess Illl keep working on it. Good luck with the Ram, youre gonna love it
Your hydraulics might not be working because of debri in the hydraulic fluid. This happened to a buddy of mine, and the dealership had to replace it all because it was contaminated.
