Default cost for rebuild..

hey, i got word that my tranny is almost gone, and im gonna have to get it rebuilt. i was just wondering how much you guys paid for a trans rebuilt? the shop is estimating mine to be around 2,800. i just thought that was alittle high, but i don't know. it's a auto with a yank st3500 stall and tranny cooler. the car is supercharged so maybee the extra power made it go bad. but anyhow feel free to share your prices and if anybody knows a good trans guy to go to close to Troy, Mi that would be great. thanks

Brian

Thats way high imo.. unless they are as good as rock on or probuilt and they are installing it for you.. check with those two guys. should run you about 2000k but its going to hold up for sure.

Local places here range from 600 rebuilt with good parts including taking the tranny out to 1500. But unless they do race trans for the 4l60e all the time they wont know the tricks these 2 guys know.

I've been quoted 800 for basic rebuild including removal and install to 1400 for performance rebuild with removal and install.

You can get a very strong built trans with vacuum mod and a shift kit all setup and ready to go for way less than that...definetely look around.

Every place I check for a 4L60E rebuild tells me 26-2800 + converter, no installation. Providing the call you back at all.

i was quoted $700

but was charged $1000 supposedly because i broke some **** inside
and they used "heby duty" parts to replace it/them

car's been fine for over a year,
and i WOT at EVERY OPPORTUNITY.

for $2800 i'd expect a built 2004R w/ a reverse manual

Gotta name and number?

I did contact FLT but it is still $2650. w/o a converter.

I also called Art Carr- sale on 700r4 and 4L60E this month. Extreme duty trans, converter, cooler, 1yr trans warrenty,2yr converter warrenty w 1 free update--$2650 shipped. This is the best deal I found. I welcome info from any vendors.

You are probably talking about their level 5. I am not really sure if you need the 5 pinion planetaries, you may want to talk with them about it.

My FLT Level 4 4L60E with the Sonnax super hold servo and vacuum mod, WITH shipping both ways was just under 2k...it should hold a lot of power, there are units like this holding up well to 600rwhp on this board. Not sure of its max potential.

what would the price be reduced to if the removal and install were to be taken out of the equation? something along the lines of holding 500 hp & 550 ft.lb.

ok, im new to this still. i like the FLT trans it looks pretty much of what i need. so how do i go about getting it? do i have to order the trans then wait till it gets here, then send them my stock trans? i already have a yank st3500 stall in it, will this affect anything when ordering my trans?

thanks for all info

Default Flt Trans

Contact FLT by either via email or just simply pick up the phone.1-630-350-7776 or www.finishlinetrans.com. They will take a deposit, build it, test it,then call you when it's done. Then you pay for the remaining balance and then oh yes ship it. You will recieve it, take it out of the box, drain old trans, put old trans back in the box, call them to schedule the pick up of the old trans core. You might want to send you tc back to yank for a cut and clean. I would never suggest reusing an old tc with a fresh trans. Enjoy the ride you'll love it.
