Default hitting the rev limiter on the 3-4 shift

i usually dont go on top speed runs but the other day i was on the tollway coming home at like 1am, so i give a little bit of gas, probably around 3/4 throttle, wasnt flooring it. now ive gone 155+ before so i really wasnt paying attention to the tach or speedo because i know the car can do it, then i hear the motor bounce off the rev limiter, look down and im only going 120-125

last time i ran that fast i still had the stock converter in, now i have a 3600, im thinking that is what caused it and i need to have my shift points adjusted

what do you guys think?

Yeah, you should adjust your shift points so you don't hit the limiter, or raise the limiter point if revving that high is doing you any good.

How many miles on your tranny Matt?
It could be the rev limiter needs to be raised or that your 3-4 clutch packs are going.

Well if you keep raising the limiter and you're still hitting it, the clutchpacks are done. Also, a WOT shift from 3-4 is about the worst thing you can do to a stock 4l60e.

Doesnt sound like a tuning issue to me if you were at 3/4 throttle unless your tuning was messed with at anything other than 100% throttle, hitting the rev limiter at 3/4 throttle going into 4th sounds like a clutchpack issue.

i dont remember, speed inc raised it a while back, i want to say 6800, but i think thats wrong

i wouldnt doubt i need the shift points adjusted, ive gone throught 3 different gear sizes and now a 3600 stall

it just seemed odd because i wasnt flooring it

i need some tuning anyways, havent done anything computer related sence before i put the headers on, and im running pig rich right now, used to get like 18mph in town, dropped down to about 15 around town, and the stall puts its about 14.5

First, I would check your tranny fluid..level, color, and smell..that will set you in the right direction if it is the tranny or if it is a tuning issue.
lmk what you find out

Thats the only part that worries me, if it was 100 percent thorttle then not so much. But like the guy above me said, check the condition of the tranny fluid then go from there, good luck!
