Default flash stall to 5700 with a TP4400 converter???

I have a Q guys, today on the way to work on I hammered the car in third to see how high I could get the converter to flash. It went all the way up to 5700rpm and then came back down to about 4600rpm and accelerated through.
Is there something wrong with the converter or my trans? If I go WOT and shift from second to third the converter/tranny seems to jump way up there and then come back to normal shift extension of 5700-5800rpm and accelerate.

I am wondering if I need a tranny freshening before this season (Only have 3 passes on the new tranny so I hope not!!)

Cheers,
Chris

Chris, are you sure you weren't getting a bit of wheelspin during that which would cause the rpms to go that high? I know the roads here in Toronto have a lot of salt on them, and even at higher speeds in 3rd gear, you could probably slightly roast those tires like that on a quick downshift.

I am not sure about the wheel spin it is definitely possible. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
The tranny is a Yank 4L70 (200R) with TP4400 converter and all the good stuff.
Thanks again,
Chris
