It's a fairly easy procedure if you're mechanically inclined. I did mine in about 3 hours I guess, that included a convertor install too but it wasn't my first one, so I already knew what to do. It comes with a video on how to install it. If you're not comfortable with pulling your valve body then I'd source it out, because all it takes is one check ball in the wrong place and you're doing it all over again.

I would give yourself 2 days with a "complete" transgo kit

i bought mine form summit racing i know one of our sponsors sells

a better version though i heard!

if you havent ever taken a valve body apart before and do

not have access to a lift and solvent cleaning tank It will take

the better part of one day plus the next incase yah messed up.

the video gets yah started and you will need

a dremel/grinder,vaseline,drill,prybar,inside retaining ring pliers

or a set of dental type hooks, basic handtools metric, a new

filter and 4 cans of brake clean. just make sure yah have a clean

area to work in! VERY CLEAN lots of rags and your set to go its

no worse than a 50 piece puzzle! just can be time consuming if

your watching the video and doing it your first time

Go slow its not too bad and its a mod you can be proud of!

yes, i would account for 2 days. my install went very smooth until we got to the part the involves removing the pistons/shaft/spings that come out toward the passenger side, on the side of the tranny. the **** is supposed to come out in pieces, but mine would not. i had to drop the trans. crossmember and take a wratchet strap and pull the tailshaft of the tranny over so i could remove everything as one piece, roughly 10" long. it was a P I T A, but we got it. i had good help, and also a burr on that shaft holding the piston on. how it got there no one knows. but i fixed it and replaced everything. the video is totally useless with our cars (f-bod). the paper instructions are what we used. this was my first shift kit install on a 4l60e. i'd say from on ramps to off ramps it took 6 hours of work, 2 of which being the f'n shaft having the burr. not a hard procedure if you can follow directions well.

do not install the high stall/full race version unless you want HARSH shifts. i drove this car for ~3k before adding the stall with that particular level of shift kit and it was very harsh. would bark the tires EVERY time from 1-2 regardless of how much i was in it...and would bark 2-3 @ anything over 75% throttle.

i guess we did it right, as i now have 10k after the kit and 5k after the stall. it still barks 1-2 @ wot and 2-3 sometimes, even with the stall. badass shift kit, i must say..

You can get an electronic one, not just a mechanical one where pieces have to be replaced. Summit sells one, or you can have it done in your computer. Mine has been programmed in the computer. That is about $400, so it might be out of your price range, but it came with my Cam tuning. Summit is about $50, and it comes with instructions.
