Ok, so the other day I missed my turn on a street, pulled up into someones driveway to backup, and the car wouldn't go into reverse. I only had neutral and drive. I said WTF!, and tried a few more times...nothing. Stuck between D or N. So I pulled up a little further, rolled back into the street, but didn't get all the way out..pulled up into the driveway again..still D and N to choose from. Did that about 2 more times trying to build up enough momentum to get on the street. About the 3rd try when I was pulling up into the driveway, I tried it and it went into reverse..and every other gear. So can anybody explain what might have happened? It's been fine ever since. No SEL light or security light. However now that I think about it, it did it once about 2 months ago and the tranny was locked in park when the security light came on when I got in to go somewhere.
