Default Ran Into a Few Problems

So i got the new drag radials on the back the other day and Friday night i went out and had a race set up with a 99 Cobra on a 100 shot. I have a 4200 stall, with the stock tranny just with a huge cooler. I launched at about 3700rmps (great launch!) Then i was pulling on him and what not and when it went to go into third it hit the limiter like crazy. So i backed out of it and got back in it but still just got limiter. So i just stopped and then took off just real slow and regularly, and all i had was first, reverse, and park. So at this time i was just thinking okay its gone. But then i let it sit for about ten minutes and then i drove it again and it worked just fine, and is still working just fine. Do you think i just have a problem with WOT shifting or do you think that its pretty much about shot? It has been making a sqreeching noise between second and third shifts. Sounds like to me its the clutch packs that are making the noise. Any help would be great!

Same thing happened to me at the track, no first or 3rd and it went off the limiter. Shut it down for 10min and everything was fine again. They call it limp mode. Today though, I lost first gear. Shut it down for 10 min and it came back. Stopped at a light and first left again. Manually shifted to first and back up to 3rd while stopped at a light and first came back and stayed. Sounds like a tuning issue, I will have mine checked when I go back to the shop at the end of the month.

What do you think i would have to change with my tune? I have hp tuners so its not a problem to change something, but what do you think on my tune could be causing it to do this?

Check the code for limp mode. You can do a search on here for it.

Disable P0751 and P0757 and let me know how it goes. I had the same problem and am waiting to rebuild the transmission. This is a problem only with 2001/2002 PCMs with high rpm stalls.

its the po757 code, you need it turned off.. do a search under my screen name and you will see i had the same problem... In simple terms the computer will see the extra slipping of the converter(computer thinks the stock one is in there) and locks you out of certain gears. To reset it you just simply have to shut the car off for a min then turn it back on... I too thought i toasted my trans with the new converter.... just do a search under my name..

look in the trans section for maximum slip settings etc...make sure you disabled all the trans abuse stuff too. Under trans abuse, they should have an option to select "hell yeah!"

sounds like limp mode to me.

if you brakestall the car over 3k for like 5 seconds or more it will send the tranny into limp mode. this happened to me as well...stupid turn arrow.

When it used to happen to me, I would manually put the shifter into 1st and then back into OD (D for you) and that took care of it. To fix it for good, you need to get the trans tuned.
