4L60E tranny cant hold up , whats next?
welp i guess running in the 10s with a 4l60e is impossible, i just had chuck send me all the stuff to freshen it up, but it didnt hold up, it started slipping all crazy as i was leaving the track today. im gonna fix it again and sell it, im sure it will hold up on most other cars but not a heads cam vortech car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> . does yank sell the 400 kit seperate? i have a connection with a sick 400 with a trans brake. and ill just need the kit.

Are you sure that the tranny was rebuilt properly? One of the things the Chuck does to his transmission is that he makes sure things are engaging & disengaging properly. I personally don't believe in a rebuild unless it was done by the manufacturer.
After all, the FLP tranny does hold 10 sec passes on many cars that I know. I know two C5s with 550+rwhp on N2O & they did 10 sec passes without a problem.

Mike, I really wish that you sent the trans back to me,I know time and money was a issue but this is a perfect example why I won't do this type of service again.You really can't blame me for something I had no control over,there's much more involved than just replacing parts when building a race transmission.I hope you send it back to me this time even if you are selling it.

well it was rebuilt properly, and i wasnt blaming you Chuck but when i originally called you about it having problems you tossed it off that the yank converotr was at fault, then i told you i thought it was the vacume line that got sucked shut, so you sent me 8 3-4 clutches and steals, a 2-4 band and a new super servo, plus gaskets and seals. then when we went through the whole tranny we found that the reverse clutches were worn out due to a damaged return spring, so we replaced it. the tranny worked mint for 2 weeks. no problems at all till i took it to the track yesterday. then somehow we lost line pressure. it has nothing to do with who rebuilt it at all. the guy rebuilds these things all the time. im not saying you tranny is junk but im doubting the 4l60e to hoding up to my set up, god Chuck if you can prove me wrong id love to continue using this flp tranny, well do you have any ideas why it would loose line pressure?

Not trying to be a smart **** here but I smell a possible deal <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> What do you want for it as is? and Chuck if he sends it to you how much to fix it? I will never make 500+ hp so it would be right up my alley.

well ozz let me tell you i do have faith in Chuck with this tranny, i am going to pull the pan tomorow morning and look at it, i will give it one more shot who knows maybe my buddy did screw something up, ill find out soon, i am really hoping to continue using this tranny, but if i cant you got 1st dibs.
ok Chuck we drove the car and the 2-4 band is wiped out again. could it be the super servo you sent me? maybe the seal in the servo or could the 2-4 band be wiped out already? all the other gears are working fine.

well i just spoke to Chuck, i am sending him my tranny and i am going to switch to the convertor he recomends. i tried the cheap easy fix but i guess i just need to leave this kinda stuff to the profesional. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> so i better get my but in the garage and pull this thing out asap. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
We all try to take the cheap route sometimes..I know I have <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> just not worth it in some cases.. too bad you don`t live in Illinois.. FLP is just 20 min away from me <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

well Chuck i totally agree with you it is your trans and you should be rebuild it. i tried taking the easy cheper way out. i will send you this trans and i will send my yank convertor back to be looked over. well sorry if i came out like a jerk on here but, im not doubting you im doubting the 4l60e. but like i said i hope you can prove me wrong <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
