Transmission Coolers

I'm going to get a stall eventually, but I know coolers are great for tranny life and they're not expensive, and I know I don't want to drive my stalled car without a tranny cooler. So I want to get one soon, but I have a few questions first.

What brand is best?
What size should I get (there are different sizes right?)
Will it make my water temp go up?
How hard is it to install, and how much would it cost if I had to pay someone to do it?

B&M super cooler 24..i got a 3200 stall and drive 30mins to work everyday and its been about 79 degrees out here and it hasnt got over 150.. IMO the best cooler on the market!

I am also running the B&M 24,000 GVW Cooler. My temps are in the 150-165 range on average. On a nice long highway run, they are high 140's.

I have the same one. Went from FL to NY without one on the stock stall and you could feel the heat from the trans tunnel. This past January did the trip again this time with my current setup and didn't feel any heat at all

Oh I got mines installed when I had the stall put in, ran me about 35 dollars or so for the install.

I run TWO 24K B&Ms. My stall isn' t too bad, but, in the summer, temps' get to run near 110*, sometimes. In traffic, with the A/C on, with the 2 24Ks, I could creek past 200* tranny temps', and continue to slowly climb. I ended up playing with placement, and found that after removing the washer bottle ( replacing it with a more rectangular one, and installing it under the driver' s side headlight, ) all the cooling baffles in front of the condensor, and bolting the coolers to the back of the bumper bar, that under the SAME conditions, the temps' would not go past 180* - 190*. Additionally, my coolant temps' went from climbing to, and past 235*, to 215* tops. I also drilled holes into the bumper absorber and opened the existing holes in the bumper bar, and could actually get air pulled through them, when the fans came on.

I know this arrangement is overkill in the winter, but, I can' t drive the same as the summer, so it' s not like I' m beating up the car anyways. You may consider an arrangement similar to this, if your temps' get to about there, as it works well for me. ;D

you never tryed one of them big boys from summit with the fan mounted on them? a buddy of mine has a 99 ss with a th350 and this fan and it kicks ***!
