just curious, why do you want all this power for a street ONLY car

the way i look at is, the th350/400 is for more of a race car, street or strip, not the best choise for a DD
a built 4l60 will retain your overdrive for gas mileage
i dont know anything about the 4l80 so i have no comments on that
and theres always the M6 if you want a row boat, better get that built too tho, i heard its common to lose 3rd

ah, well i want just north of 600 rwhp for the street. I think that is about enough to top everyone around me and its not too nuts. I'll more than likely end up getting my 4L60-e built

I decided not to trust the T56 above 600HP and went with the 4L80E. It cost me $4800 total, but I could have got around $400 back if I could have found a good core to ship them back. Hughes built it - their street/strip 80E - rated to 900ft/lb of torque. I'm really happy with it and the programming options can give your car a split personality - mellow when you're putting around, good mileage, etc - and a monster above half throttle - neck snapping shifts, etc. Highly recommended. And I don't have to worry about it.

If I was going to go manual with the power I'm running now (haven't used the nitrous yet), I would think seriously about springing for a Jericho racing tranny - they are like $5000.

If you like shifting - M6 - If you want reliability you need a TH350 or better yet, the TH400.
