TH350 Crossmember?? Need some help

TH350 Crossmember?? Need some help

I searched around and really couldn't find what I was looking for so here it is.

I am going from a M6 to a TH350 in a 98 Camaro. I have a BMR adj torque arm. Is there any other option besides the $249 crossmember from Yank or BMR that will work with what I am doing? Is there any kind of adapter kit to make it work, or can the stock crossmember be modified so it will work?

Not that hard to fabicate one if you have someone that can work with tubing.

you could buy a special spacer for your tranny and use a 700r4 tail shaft and TQ arm bracket so you can bolt the TQ arm up to the tranny. if your askin about that.
Or if youre askin about the tranny crossmember part you can have a plate welded to the M6 crossmember to extend a few inshes forward and drill a hole in it for the tranny mount.
I've done thise for a few people that didn't wanna spend the $$$ on that crossmember.

if you need it for a temp use, you can use the angle iron strapping (get the heavy gauge stuff) from Home Depot/Lowes. When I swapped to the TH350, I was in a pinch and the shop had a 3ft section of this heavy gauge angle, I cut it so I could form an "L". Measured the length to bolt to the Xmember, and to the TA, then made two 45* cuts where I wanted it bent. Drilled out the existing holes a bit, bolted it to the Xmember and a bolt thru the Slot on the TA. Actually drove it around like that for a couple weeks, ended up being pretty quiet and worked well. Ultimately the BMR conversion is the right ticket. I have since cut the TA relo part off and went to a Spohn TA.

I DID THAT,LOL...saved 250 bucks and works just as good
