I experienced the same problem that you are experiencing. It happens worst when the engine is just coming up to full operating temperature. If I come to a stop, I get a whump....whump....whump.....then stall out (the whump.... is the engine rpm fluctuating up and down). I also use the Crane/Vinci tuner. I am able to get rid of the whumps by selecting the performance shift points & raising the idle 150-200 rpm. At any other setting, the whumps come back.
Oh yeah, this problem started from my switch to a 10" 3500 stall converter. Hope this helps.

Yes it does help ... I'm accumulating many options a scenerios, not to mention more knowledge. This does seem to be a common issue ... especially for us A4 folks.
I took the car for a 10 mile ride yesterday .. didn't seem to stumble as bad (never stalled out at all). Joe told me that it would take several cold to warm up cycles for the comp. to learn the new MAF so, .. I need to wait untill the car has plenty of time to learn it before I move or adjust anything else. I'm feeling pretty confident that this car will run one day like it supposed to ..

Once You Bore Your Butterfly Everything Should Be Ok, Thats From The Same Experience On My A4, After Cam And 2800 Stall. That Is Assuming The Previous Tuning Was Reflashed And A New Program Was Installed With All The Correct Parameters. Good Luck. Also When Your Engine Runs Like That For A While Your Spark Plugs May Benefit From Being Changed Out As Well As Fuel Filter And A Fuel Additive. This Is Due To The Engine Not Effeciently Atomizing All The Fuel Through The System. Just My 2cents!

RPMs dropping
RPMs dropping 300 from nuetral to drive is not normal. mine drops maybe 50-75 RPMs diffentitly below 100 RPMs.
I presonally would'nt be drilling holes in the TB with this small cam (maybe if it where a big cam) wounld'nt expect that to be a quick fix.
