Tranny cooler on stock convertor?

Tranny cooler on stock convertor? Is a tranny cooler useful for a stock convertored car? Car sees mostly street use and the track a couple times a month. If it is worth it, what kind should I get? How hard are they to install? TIA

It certainly won't hurt. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> I actually have one with my stock converted car right now. Go with the B&M trans cooler. As for installation, not too difficult although Speed Inc did mine.

Re: Tranny cooler on stock convertor? Even on a stock car if you flog it on the street, autocross or hot lap at the track you should have one. B&M Supercooler or similar plate type design is the best. 16,000 GVW if you will stay stock, 19,000 GVW if you plan on an aftermarket converter would probably work well.

Re: Tranny cooler on stock convertor? They most definitely make a difference. Mines cooled with the stock converter right now, just waiting for some time to install my SY3500. After driving I can feel a noticeable difference between the in/out hoses.
Easy install but I say if your gonna get one, go ahead and get the 24,000 SuperCooler. It's only about 5 bucks more ($45-50) and is actually smaller than the 19,000 but twice as thick. I believe its something like 11x6" or pretty close.
