Default Rock On Tranny Is Here!!!

Shipping company just dropped off my stage 4 tranny

Looks great, but when we cracked open the shipping container there was tranny fluid dumped everywhere....all the paperwork got a nice lil bath as well

Is this normal or did the shippers decide to roll my tranny around(from the looks of the container it rolled at least once )

Will this hurt anything?
Thanks,
J

would it have fallen off a forklift and tipped the fluid out? shouldnt have come out under normal shipping I wouldnt think. i thought trannies were shipped dry?

They are supposed to ship dry. I don't think rolling it would hurt anything, falling from a fork lift could be a different story though.

Don't know I tried calling dave@rock on but only got a message service.

Case looks fine, nothing looks damaged...but tranny fluid is everywhere.

Dave dyno's his trannies before they ship so I can see some fluid still being in there.

Yeah, I imagine they drain the pan, but I'm sure there's still quite a bit of fluid inside the tranny when they ship.

They have to put fluid in the tranny to test it.

Dur...of course they fill it to dyno it, thats why I mentioned it. Just didn't expect to see the tranny and shipping case covered with fluid, as well as the shipping paper work to return my core...kinda useless now.

Oh well, haven't heard back from dave, not his email or a return phone call.

It's normal. I have bought two different brands of trannys and had them shipped to me. Both came in cases that were leaking tranny fluid when I picked them up. Both trannys worked fine when they were installed and didn't leak.

For what it's worth, Dave actually answered his cell phone for a call from me on a Saturday while he was driving from Wichita to Texas.

He could have just let it ring or not answered, but he picked up and answered lots of questions about my setup and how he builds his transmissions.

Needless to say I was impressed with his customer service.

I can't explain why he has not answered your calls or email...but there must be a good reason. He doesn't appear to be the type to just blow his customers off once a sale has been made.

When I decide to place the order it will be a Rock-On.

Please keep us updated once you have installed the trans and how it performs.

But I haven't done anything to **** Dave off that I know. I did leave a message/phone number and a email to his address listed on his webpage.

I called the number 4 times, so please don't question my integrity. I have no reason to make stuff up. Read my post in the sponsor section as well. I posted this up because I'm installing my Rock ON tranny tomorrow and just wanted to make sure all was on the up and up after seeing the shipping container covered in tranny fluid. It is my first "aftermarket" tranny and just want to be sure.

Good luck with your purchase, the reasons you listed are the reasons why I went with ROCK ON too

Sorry...I think you misunderstood my reply. I wasn't implying that the reason he isn't returning your calls is because of you...the reasons I believe are his and probably related to family issues.

Nevetheless... that leaves customers hi and dry when they need quick answers such as yours and there isn't anyone in the business to take-over when Dave is gone.

Good luck to you as well with the tranny.

My car is parked until I replace the tranny and tq, so am very interested in how your Rock-On a4 performs. I'm probably going with a Fuddle TQ to replace my Vig 3200.
