3800+ Convertors Tranny temps?

Has anyone logged tranny temps in around town driving with a higher stall and a large tranny cooler?

Local tranny builder who has built 4l60es in the past thinks im crazy for going with a 4000stall in a street car....

Just for arguments sake if anyone has any good data on their tranny temps I would love to hear it.

My 4000 stalled trany never goes above 180 degrees in city driving with a 24k cooler.

Same here. runs 150 on the highway, 170-180 in town w/30K cooler

I dont know how accurate Autometer gauges are, but mine registers 150 or so on the highway. City driving at speeds below 35mph the gauge climbs up to around 195.

i haven't seen mine go past 165 yet but thats all winter/spring. I will get a better idea this summer.. Just make sure to get a decent size trans cooler with the converter and you will be fine.
