Default Just Installed: Fuddle 3400 Stall 2.1 STR Wow!!

Wow guys is all i have to say. Just got done installing the following:
Fuddle 3400 Stall 2.1 STR converter
BM tranny cooler
Autometer CF series trans temp gauge
"hypertech tuning" (just for shift points, firmness, rev limiter)
i have a 98 so no torque management but wow this thing is a whole different car pulls harder everywhere, still moves at idle, locks up on the highway the same, 60mph at 1400 rpms is great and leaving the line at 2600 footbrake stall also sweet. any questions guys would be willing to answer .

I talked to John at fuddle and he recomended the same stall and str. I plan on buying one over the summer. Now you got me debating on headers or stall first. Hope to get the same results. Congrats.

one more thing. how is it off the line with street tires. is it hard to get traction

def. go with the converter and i don't really know track yet but on the street i brung it to 1900 then rolled into the gas and that seemed to work pretty well on 285/35/zr18 street tires. another thing nastynate does yours clunk or like "grind" when it comes out of lockout mine is i don't konw if its normal

I haven't heard anything like that yet. I've only had it in for a week now though.

I installed a Fuddle 3000 1.9 in my car last year and it acts just like a stock convertor when it locks/unlocks. Whatever the problem, if it's the convertors fault, John will make it right.

well i don't have the time, nor the money to keep pulling the trans and changing converters either this is kinda ridiculus i have no idea what it is. the other features of the converter are awesome though thats what bugs me.

I'm waiting to install mine. Its a 4000 with 2.2 STR. I have no idea what to expect. Will it always stall to 4000? Or can I feather the throttle for it not to stall.

Just got recommended the same stall as well. Any notice in mpg difference? How does the car feel from a 30+ mile roll under WOT AND at around 1/2-3/4 pedel? I also dont think the clunking is normal you should have the looked at. Final question, when you punch it on the street what the the converter flash too?

98's dont have torque management? so when i put my stall in (98 formula) i dont have to worry about getting anything tuned out?

How much did you guys pay for your install....

I just got word back from Fuddle today...He recommended a 3000 with a 2.0 STR for my Procharged SS...He said it will still be VERY streetable which is what i wanted...this should get me at least 1/2 a second Im sure...

Has anyone gotten the chance to see what kind of times they knocked off if so list your stall size and time difference...

Sorry for all the questions I hope Im not stealing this post...Im just about to make the purchase and wanted to know what to expect...TIA

Yes, the '98 models have tq management just like all the other years. Mine was pulling up to 16 degrees out right before the 1-2 shift.

All 98-02 fbody's came with torque management. The bigger stall you go with, the more likely you'll have tm issues. Some of the earlier years aren't as finicky when adding a stall as later models, but it's really a crapshoot. Most of the time a 3400 or higher stall will require tq mgmt retuning regardless of year.

Well, we didn't tune it out completely. What we did was cut it back to where it only pulls a max of 5 Degrees of timing right before the 1-2 shift. It made a significant difference in the way the car shifts at WOT.

Did the back of the converter have the welded elongated brackets on them (three). Mine is being installed tomorrow. Went with a 3800 2.2str, moving from a 2800. First Fuddle converter I have owned. I have heard nothing but good things about them. John and Mellissa were GREAT to work with.
