3.73 cruising in an a4
The 3:73 gears are great for street/stripe in my humble opinion. My RPM's at 70 MPH is about 2400. The above gears have better all around performance. If performance is not your goal or gas mileage is a concern, then go other gear.
Highway mileage in my car went from consistant 28mpg to 26mpg after the 12 Bolt & 3.73's My car had 3.23's stock.
I have gotten as good as 29mpg on the 3.23's and 28mpg with the 3.73's.. but the numbers above are the average.

You kidding? 25+mpg with 3:73? I was planing on going with 3:42 when I change to a moser but if I can still get 20+mpg I will go 3:73. I am putting a Vig3200 and built A4 in in 2 weeks so you really think 3:73 would be good for a daily driver, I do a lot of highway driving and would hate to lose the ability to smoke the non belivers when they get sucked in by the Ram Air hood and have to try me

IMO, I think the 3.42's are the better way to go on an A4 (especially if you spray) for both the street and strip. I ran the 3.73's for two weeks and were nice, but I put my 3.23's back in cause I dropped MPH and ET, don't ask me why when everyone else is getting improvements. Maybe it has to do with the power curve or something. Anyway, good luck with the decision..
