Converter has nothing to do with highway cruising sppeds.
i have 31" tires and 4.10's in my th350 car. 70 mph is about 3,500 rpm's. 60 mph is about 3,000 rpm's.
My set up is the same as 3.42's and stock sized tires. The taller tire you run the higher you can go in the gear.

just to let you guys know I have 3.42 with a 26" tire with my 4l60e and a 3500 stall (for now) and at 70 it tachs 22-2300 rpm. 60 is like 2k rpm.

Jason drove his around on the 4400 with no problems. I have a PT4000 and had a 235/240 113 cam in the car which has been swapped for a 236/243 112 and the car will be daily driven for a while once it goes back together (as long as its nice out).

I have a 224/224 cam I do not know a lot about stall converters, but what effects would a 4500 stall do on the road as a daily driver. I am also looking at putting a ms3 cam in very soon

My 4000 stall 3.42 geared full weight car and it's very streetable. More gear would offset the extra RPMs, especially in a car that might have some weight pulled. I say pull some weight and throw the bigger stall in there, especially with that cam. You either need a 4000/4.10 setup or a 4400/3.73 setup with a cam that big.

My car is a daily driven 4400 stall with 14-15 mpg city....got 28mpg Friday night...but that was highway for the most part so the lockup was nice.

I had a Yank 4000, went 11.7...
I have a Yank 4400, go 11.4-11.5...

I plan on going back to a 4000 when I spray....but I like the badass shift extension this converter has...call Yank and ask them about a good street/strip 4200+ stall. They don't list them on their site.

My cam is a 236/242 .601"/.610" 114lsa so it's also rather large. Hope this helps.

I ran both the pt4400 and pt4000 on my camaro as a daily driver and honestly part throttle their wasn't much difference between the two. I ran 3.42's and a 26" tire so I say go PT4400.

4000 stall + 100 shot = 1.3 60's
I hope this formula works

weekend cruiser with a 8" yank 5000 stall.
very drivable for what it is. i love it.

gear can offset conveter flash, so if you have a 4000 with 4.10's now, it may stretch out a bit with the 3.73. couple hundred rpm id guess.
good luck.

Why don't you lock your converter up?

I like my 4400! There probably isn't a big difference between the 4000 and the 4400 on the street, but at the track....

When you say "LOCKUP" on a verter do you mean stays loose? Doesn't loose equal more heat=dead tranny? Also give me an example stop/go situation in a car with a 3600+stall car...wouldn't DD leap/jerk from a stop and how about wet roads, how the hell do you stay straight revvin' up that high just to make the car move from a dead stop?
