A high stall speed is easier to drive at normal speeds in the snow and in rain because at low throttle (and below the stall speed) it takes off more softly than the stock converter.
I had an easier time driving in the snow when I added a converter.
You really just need to ride in/drive a stalled car to see for yourself.
