Default 4l80e speedo sensors with a 400? not working..

What do I need to do to get the 4L80E VSS sensors to work with my 400? I pressed the ring onto the tailshaft as far back as it would go. SEtup the sensor. and spiced the wires into the ole one. But my speedo still isn't work....

any ideas?

I think you meant to say 4l60e speed sesor. But any how, the ring you pressed on needs to be dead nuts in the center of the hole for it to read properly. This could be your problem. Check all fuses related to the vss/speedo. You might be using the wrong vss sensor. I'm a little confused. Let us know how it turns out.

Nope, pretty sure it's a 4l80E sensor...

My trans is a th-400.... I'm pretty sure the th-400 uses that sensor and not the 4l60e???

I'll doube check all my fuses...

I org had it dead center and no luck, so I pressed it al lthe way on, now it's slighty more on one side then the other...

Any other ideas?
