how much of a difference will a shift kit make? what can you expect to get out of a shift kit besides firmer shifts. better time? or just firmer shifts and churping third

The Trans-Go Performance Shift kit "as is" will not do much. There are a few modifications that can be done easily to your kit that will make a big difference in terms of capacity, longevity, and shift smoothness/firmness at part throttle & WOT.

how much of a difference will a shift kit make? in terms of ET, the difference will be minimal, if any. in terms for shifting, it will make a noticeable difference, dependent on which level of firmness you choose. i would also venture to say that a mild shiftkit would increase the life expectancy of your transmission, barring much abuse.
i installed the transgo full race/high stall shift kit because of my 4k stall. now 1-2 will snap necks on drag radials + prepped track, and 2-3 will "scratch". i feel that particular level of firmness is a bit much for the stock tranny. i have 10k HARD miles on that setup, including 100+ track passes and haven't had any problems - yet. i know i am on borrowed time with my weakass stock tranny and HARSH shift kit + 4k stall...
