Its not for a street car ,Unless your hardcore. Its LOOOSE.But it does lock up pretty well.
Once your moving its not that bad but off idle to about 3000 its TUFF.I wont know how hard it hits for 100 miles.

Joel, I have the UT4800, and with 4.30 gears, it's not much different than my TP4400 with 4.10's. I can take off into traffic slowly under 2600 rpms. And yes, mine locks up smoothly and consistently (that's really a PCM thing more than the converter).
Once you get into this thing, you'll love it. It's insane from a roll...........
Good luck with it.

JS,
I think what Ragtop means is raise your low throttle position shift points. When your tranny shifts into 2nd and 3rd at low speeds, you ride the converter a lot harder. By raising your shift points some, you will stay in 1st gear a little longer before you shift into 2nd and so on...
I did this with LS1 Edit and it works great!

LOOSE! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />
Ahh man! with those big gears! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> I've ran it on the street for over eight months! With 3.23's for a while. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> On stock internals!
I guess I am a little more extreme than I thought <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
JS .. you'll love it at the track.

Patrick thats exactly what I'm gonna do.
Rag is correct my 1 to 2 shift happens fast under part throttle.I'll have Julio bring them up alittle bit.
Now I uderstand. The converter really isnt too bad in first gear or even in 2nd once your moving.
Thats guys

Hey Patrick, that's exactly what I mean. Between 0% - 25% TPS, I raised my shift points roughly as follows:
1-2: +1 mph
2-3: +3 mph
3-4: +4 mph
I've fine tuned it more than that but that should get JS started in the right direction. I use 100 - 200 rpms less in town now after raising the light throttle shift points.
