Tranny cooler install
You know the two holes we have in the front grill of our Camaro's? My cooler is mounted right behind the passenger side hole. It seems to work great there, tranny temp stays around 150 in city (yesterday was nearly 100 degrees outside here I think) and on the highway/interstate it drops down to 125/130. Only thing is I removed my front bumper support (for weight) so there was tons of room for it. If you couldn't do that, you could try dope style

Probably a better idea to keep it on. I only take the car out to test it/race it on nice sunny weekend days anymore, so I guess I can get away with it. If the car saw the light of the world more I'd probably keep it on
Dope style should work fine for ya, it'll get plenty of air. If nothing else you could always install two coolers, one on each side, so you're doing it "double-dope style"

yeah word... it sounds cool/fun! kinda bothers me though not having each corner mounted
then again it is light as ****... and the bad thing about dope style... another thing to have to watch out for when parting where there is a curb...

That's why I always park backwards now, so I don't have to worry about hitting the nose on anything

Removed mine after trying it between the AC condenser and then trying the "dope-style" location in the picture above. Last weekend, I removed the lower air dam that scoops air up to the radiator. Then I removed the plastic covering from underneath the car (real easy to remove) in front of the passenger side wheel. It now sits concealed just under the headlight ... where the horn is located. This allows it to sit directly behind the big air hole underneath the headlight and amber parking light. It also has fins which allows the air dam to push air from underneath the car and up directly into the cooler. It maintains the same temperature as the other places it was mounted previously. The advantages are; (1) the dope-style left it exposed; (2) the radiator mount was causing the motor to overheat in traffic when the weather is above 80+ degrees. Finally got it where I need it and I'm satisifed with the new location.
