Default Turbo 400 or Glide? Help me decide.

My car is around 3100 raceweight and I plan on around 450 rwhp NA and will have 2 converters and gear sets so I can also run a 150 shot when I want. Having trouble deciding on a good transbraked 400 or glide with 1.80 straight cuts. Suspension is good enough for low 9's so thats not an issue. Just not sure if I have enough motor to make the glide outshine the 400. What do you guys think?

2800-3000 is the magic number so your really on the border since your leaving off the brake you could probabley could go with the glide. if you did i would recomend a dedenbear case (it has a patented modifeid release circuit for the trans brake to aid reaction times, along with having hte extra top hole on the bell housing). as far as which would be the fastest it, since your on the border i would say it depends on your combo as far as converter and rear gears, but most likely the glide.

Thats about exactly what I was thinking. The glide I think will be the better choice due to easier to hook on the juice and when I do add power later, it will be better suited. I've just always had such good luck with 400's that I keep second guessing myself and I know my power/weight is boderline to let the glide shine. NEVER will I go the 4l60 route unless they get alot stronger and reliable in the future.

you need a big stall on that glide to keep it from bogging down the motor in high gear. a 4.11 gear and 4600-4800 stall would be optimal IMO for a 1.80 glide.

proper converter and glide wil probably be the best combination. i ran a braked glide in 1992 on my 2100# camaro with a T/A converter and a 5.57 ring and pinion, car was very predictable, killer lights and 8.70's @ 152. You will consume additional hp with turbos rotating mass.
