Stock Stall Speed?
just as the title says: what is the stock stall converter's speed? i estimate 1800 - 2000 from my tach but we all know no RPM gauge is totally accurrate. the reason why i ask is i am against stalls due to transmission wear (the 4L60E isn't exactly a strong beast), but i would CONSIDER a 3000 stall at the very most along with new servos, clutches and a shift kit further in the future. i'd like to see how much of a jump this would be over the stock converter.

stock: 1600-1800 rpm stall speed, 1.8 str
Higher stall converters will not make the transmission (even our sorry lil 4l60e) wear any faster as long as you set it up with a proper cooler to keep the tranny temps in check. Heat is what kills trannies, not bigger converters. You would fall in love with your car all over again with a 3000 rpm stall, and wonder why you waited so long to put one in.
