Default 4l60e Prob!!

My trans is making a strange sound, if u have ever heard a wheel BRG go out or any roller BRG, thats what it sounds like... but only in 1 and 4,,, ALL gears r working fine,, trans shifts great, OD works... it does have a B&M shift kit, thats all the mods i have done to this trans ( shift kit was put in at 70,000 miles,, i now have 160,000). I am going to pull the trans out this weekend, i would like some info on what the noise could be.. I would also like to know who makes a good rebuild book, DVD, VHS for my 4L60E or a write up on rebuilding the trans VIA the NET... thanks ... LS1 TECH RULES!!!!!!!

I'm no tranny expert, but from my own experience and breaking 3 of these (one was my fault installing the converter wrong) the weak links are: the sun shell, the plastic accumulator piston, the reaction carrier and the 4 pinion planetaries. If you installed a shift kit and still have the plastic piston, that may be cracked. Been there done that! Hope that helps a little and if I'm wrong please post up!
