Wow...I get 17mpg with a TH350, 4000stall (loose as hell too) and 9" with 3.50 gears...on an island so its always a half *** highway/city mix! I wouldn't continue referencing the TM issue, as stated, either use a converter box if you need to, or go RMVB and you'd keep the power in the range through the shifts. I agree, need to hit the Cad boards to check on this trans.

17 mpg, is that an average or is that light driving with your mods?
What percent hwy and city?

Thanks.

Stock gear, 3.23

No track numbers, sorry

Highway/City mix, I try to drive locked up most of the time in either 3rd or 4th 30-55mph

Just wanted to say my mileage didn't drop with the converter like most people talk about. Was in response to the efficienty/mileage comment.

Is this the same 6 speed auto in the new c6 vette? If so I would like to know how to upgrade it for more power.

Looking at the GM specs on the 6l80 trans it is rated at a lower torque # than the TUFF 4l60-e the rating on the 4l60-e at the gear box after the converter is 670 ft lbs and the 6l80 is rated at 664 ft lbs and the 4l80-e is rated at the same point to 885 ft lbs
and as the 6l80 is built off of the 4l60e that would sound correct.

That goes against everything that I've read about the trans. I've read that it was built off the 4l80E. But, being as you guys are the ones that built them, I'll take your word for it.

So, it's clutch to clucth. I thought the 4l60e was bands and that's why it's so weak?
