idle problem after converter
I just had a vig3200 converter installed in my 2001 Trans Am. I love it so far but haven't had it up the track yet, coming next week. Anyway since I put it in the engine idles at 500rpm instead of around 800rpm like before. When I reverse or try to pull into traffic it stalls. The car doesn't do it all the time though. I was planning on turning the idle up with the throttle body screw but of course theres no screw. I don't think theres anything wrong just want to turn my idle up a little. I think I'll have to bring it to the dealership and have them do it. All I was wondering if theres something I caould do to solve this. Its not the biggest deal if I can't, I'll just live with it. Just wanted some input on the matter. THANKS <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

You probably can find the procedure with a search engine.

ive had no problems going to the 3200 however when i put it in i did a shift kit as well (has no real bearing on stall speed). my suggestion would be to disconnect the battery - reconnect the battery and let it relearn shift points with the new speed(s).
I had the same problem with my 2001 T/A and Yank ST3200. On the dyno it would idle between 450-500 and would stall in reverse often. I had a tune and used LS1 edit to raise the idle and now it is perfect and feels tighter also. Also got rid of the misfire code.
You have a set screw on your TB. The arm of the TB is resting on it when the TB Blade is closed. I have to remove my TB to get at it because the head of the screw faces down. It takes a Torx fitting.
You could also enlarge your TB hole by 1/32." Do not go any bigger w/o testing it.
