For those looking to install a 1LE trans mount on a 2000
I'm in the process of installing LT's and custom Y-pipe and as a precaution (to prevent banging) I wanted to install a 1LE trans mount on my 2000 SS M6 at the same time. SLP's website clearly states that the 1LE mount will not work on a 2000-2002, so I did some searching. I couldn't come up with anything conclusive regarding whether it would actually work on a 2000, but based on what I had seen I went ahead and bought one anyway.
I installed it yesterday and it worked great. The mount looks different than the stock piece, but it bolts up fine and does appear to be more rigid. The part from SLP is #60005 and be aware that it does not come with the proper nut to attach it (the stock one is too big). I bought a 10M x 1.5 grade 8 nut along with an oversize washer and lock washer for the installation. This worked nicely. Check out http://eric.virginia.com/install_uni...y_mount_m6.htmfor torque specs, etc.
Thought that this info might be useful to others in a similar situation <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
