Is this right??
Anyway it's that last 3/4 to 1/2 inch that breaks the pump. I've read in here about so many people breaking the pump rotor doing it the right way. You got very lucky if it turns out ok.
I would never put the tc on the engine first.
I would highly suggest you unbolt the tc and spin it before you put this in the car.

I just pulled the tranny out of the car. but get this, the TC still spins really good, but after i took out the TC i could see 2 little things on the side of the shaft... I called Dana at probuiltautomatic and told him the situation and he said what you guys said "aint going to happen" LOL. I called him after i pulled out the TC and he said that the rotor is broken and that i need to take out the pump and fix it. So im going to get a shift kit, 9.5 TC and some other goodies since its out. I was hoping i would suprise you guys but guess not. Thanks for the great help and a great expensive learning experiance. LOL
