Default 95 LT1 Auto ---> shifting question under WOT and T.M.

95 LT1 Auto ---> shifting question under WOT

this is my girlfriends car that is basically bone stock. Whenever it shifts under WOT there seems to be a short "squeal" that sounds very similar to a belt slipping. It does it every time it shifts under WOT. Any ideas??

Also, do you know if these years (1995) cars have torque management? It also feels like the car drops off in torque just before it goes to shift.

thanks,
Paul

No torque Management, Could be the band slipping, but mine shutterd, not squeal.

Car shifts good, just makes noise?

Sounds exactly like what my transmission used to do. It died last week. Not sure if the two are related... The new one I have in doesn't shift nearly as hard, but it doesn't squeal either.

My '95 Z28 also had belt screech on every WOT shift. It was kind of normal, or at least very common, on those LT1 cars.

Mine did the same thing. Not really a bad problem really. It did it when I put my shift kit in.
